Fifth grade students are officially in their last year of elementary school and are considered seniors in their own right. Your fifth grader will continue to lay the foundation for middle school by refining their learning. Fifth grade students are truly reading to learn at this stage in the game and are expected, and encouraged, to learn independently. Teachers are truly facilitators, guiding students in deepening their knowledge in all subject areas.
